OLYMPIA – This afternoon, Rep. Elect Adam Bernbaum (D-Port Angeles) was sworn into the House of Representatives to fill position-1, which has been vacated by Rep. Mike Chapman.
Rep. Bernbaum’s appointment brings his experience as a public servant in the legislature, as a field organizer for U.S. Representative Derek Kilmer, and as a community advocate for the 24th legislative district to the House Democratic Caucus and House of Representatives.
“It is truly the honor of a lifetime to serve the communities of the 24th legislative district in Olympia”, said Rep. Bernbaum. “During the next two years, my vision will be guided my belief that every person deserves a life with dignity—free from the fear that a sudden illness or accident could jeopardize a lifetime of hard work”.
As the 2025 legislative session approaches, Rep. Bernbaum’s upcoming legislative agenda will focus on reducing building costs to make housing more accessible, building a sustainable and thriving rural economy, expanding behavioral health resources, improving the quality of public education, protecting access to reproductive healthcare, and protecting the natural lands and waterways in the North Peninsula and Grays Harbor.
The 2025 legislative session begins Monday, January 13, 2025.
