Like so many Seattle protests, it started out peacefully. By the end of the night, there was smoke and pepper spray in the air and Seattle Police made several arrests. Seattleites assembled at Cal Anderson Park on Wednesday night for a third day of protest against President Donald Trump’s mass deportations and increasing military presence at anti-ICE demonstrations in Los Angeles. New grants could help overburdened communities in Washington clean up the air
A very small group gathered in Yakima last week to give feedback on a big issue: poor air quality. New statewide grants are helping people find ways to improve the air in their communities. As Washington grapples with a multibillion-dollar budget shortfall, some state agencies are starting the largest wave of layoffs since the Great Recession.
