OLYMPIA – Washington State lawmakers move one step closer to passing the most comprehensive piece of domestic violence legislation since 1979 on Thursday. Following powerful testimony last week, Rep. Lauren Davis (D-Shoreline) will get a vote in the House Community Safety, Justice & Reentry Committee on her proposed House Bill 1715. The bill, rooted in personal experience, aims to flip the status quo on current domestic violence policy and help empower victims in seeking justice.
