Friends and MENA Siblings,
In 2023, I worked with the University of Washington Tacoma to secure legislative funding for a study about inequities in poverty, access to service, language barriers, and access to justice for individuals of Middle Eastern descent. I’m thrilled to share that the report is complete and am so grateful for all Middle Eastern and North African (MENA) people who participated to make this possible.
To share the final report and announce new legislation, we are hosting an event with UW Tacoma.
Join us on January 17th from 6-7 pm, to learn about the report, provide feedback, and learn about the next bill I’m sponsoring. This report would not be possible without all your feedback and engagement with the UW team. Upcoming legislation would not be possible without this report. Your feedback and insight are critical to our community getting the voice and resources it needs.
Where: Studios A & B, Othello-UW Commons. 4200 S Othello St, Seattle, WA 98118
When: UPDATED TIME: January 17th, 6-7 pm. NOT JANUARY 16th.
Accessibility Information: Studios A & B are on the ground floor. The Othello-UW Commons is located on the street level with no entrance steps. Bathrooms are wheelchair accessible. There are no stairs to the restroom. One of the bathrooms are for women and the other is an all-gender single room.
Parking: All parking is street parking, and currently there are no designated disabled parking spaces.
