Friends and neighbors,
The 2025 legislative session ended on April 27th, and it proved what’s possible when we lead with values and work across the aisle. Over the course of 105 days, we passed a remarkable 421 bills, 164 unanimously and 274 with 80% support or more. delivering meaningful progress on the issues that matter most: stabilizing rent, expanding affordable housing, increasing special education funding, curbing gun violence, and investing in safer schools and stronger communities.
Despite budget shortfalls, we passed a people-first operating budget that protects shelter, food, and health, honors state workers, and boosts investments in K-12 education and local safety. We also passed a forward-looking transportation budget focused on sustainability and preservation. Together, we advanced good policies, blocked harmful ones, and kept our promise to put Washingtonians first.
To share more about what we accomplished and hear directly from you, Sen. Javier Valdez, Rep. Gerry Pollet, and I will be hosting a community town hall on June 10th from 6–8 PM at Nathan Hale High School. This is your chance to ask questions, discuss ongoing issues in our district, and share your priorities with us.
We hope to see you there!
In service,
Rep. Darya Farivar
