Dear neighbors and friends,
I am excited to invite you to celebrate the rich heritage of the Iranian, Afghan, Tajik, Uzbek, and Turkmen communities, as well as so many other countries and cultures that celebrate Nowruz!
On February 27th, between 10:30-11:30 am, join me in recognizing Nowruz with the Washington State House of Representatives.
This year’s House resolution honoring Nowruz, HR 4678, is anticipated to be adopted at the end of this week. It marks a significant milestone in acknowledging the invaluable contributions of the many cultural communities that celebrate Nowruz. It stands as a testament to our unwavering commitment to inclusivity and recognizing the vibrant tapestry of cultures that make Washington truly special.
Whether you have personal ties to Nowruz or simply cherish the beauty of cultural diversity, I encourage you to join us in the House Gallery for this remarkable event as we build a more welcoming state for all. A group photo on the North steps of the Capitol will follow at around 11:30 am.
I look forward to celebrating with you!
In service,
