In my latest video update I discuss the special session budget stalemate. House Democrats, understanding the importance of passing a budget that fully funds education, recently released a new compromise proposal very close to the Senate Republicans’ Budget.
Currently, the Senate is holding the budget hostage until the House passes several right-wing policy bills including: lifting restrictions on payday lenders, school changes that make it easier to fire teachers and altering our state’s worker compensation program so it has complete disregard for the injured employee’s future well-being.
I hope the Senate will compromise soon so a budget deal that fully funds education can be reached for Washington’s families.
