Welcome to the 2025 Legislative Session!

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

On Monday, the Legislature began its 105-day session. I’m eager to focus on the priorities neighbors in the 43rd District have shared with me, including funding our public schools, housing affordability, climate action, gun violence, and access to health care including behavioral and reproductive care.

As a member of the House Democrats’ budget team, I’ll primarily focus on ensuring the state budget meets the needs of people of our district and across Washington while remaining balanced and sustainable.

My top policy priorities include improving affordability in housing and health care, and addressing long term care needs for seniors and people with disabilities. Two of the top bills I’ve already introduced are Rent Stabilization (HB 1217, with Rep Alvarado) and increasing affordable access to health insurance for public and school employees (HB 1123).

Rent Stabilization already received a public hearing in the Housing Committee, and I spoke at a press conference on the need to pass the bill this year. Click below to listen.

Your voice matters in Olympia, and I encourage you to reach out to me and other lawmakers, track bills, and consider testifying in person or remotely. Below, you can learn more about how YOU can get involved. Visit the legislative website for more details!

It’s an honor to represent my neighbors across the 43rd District. I deeply appreciate your commitment to staying informed and engaged and look forward to hearing from you this session!
