OLYMPIA – This afternoon, Gov. Jay Inslee announced that the East Region will be moving to Phase 2 in the Roadmap to Recovery plan on Monday, February 15. After discussion with State Rep. Marcus Riccelli (D-Spokane), the Governor’s office has agreed to move the start date for Phase 2 up by one day to allow restaurants to be open for Valentine’s Day.
“Valentine’s Day is a vitally important day for many local restaurants. With all that we have asked our small businesses to endure, I am happy that we were able to move the start date for Phase 2 to allow restaurants to seat a limited number of people during one of the most important days for restaurants all year,” said Riccelli. “Thank you to Gov. Inslee for listening to our concerns and giving our restaurants an economic shot in the arm.
Further details about the new start date for Phase 2 will be forthcoming from the Governor’s office and the Washington State Department of Health.
