Dear neighbors,
Last year, folks across the district talked to me about the same big issues: the cost of living, public safety, and making government services more efficient and effective.
Those are my top three priorities this session, and I’m taking your stories with me—when I speak in committee, to other lawmakers, or on the floor of the House of Representatives.
These e-newsletters are my way of updating you on what’s happening in Olympia and how it matters back home. They are also a chance to hear from you. Because this is a conversation. Hearing your ideas and experiences is the best way to truly represent all the people of the 26th District.

The first day – taking the oath and the Speaker’s speech
The first day of the 2025 session, including all 98 members of the House of Representatives taking the oath of office.
We also heard the opening day speech by Speaker Laurie Jinkins, who outlined how we can work together to tackle common problems like the cost of living and balancing the budget. Remarks by Speaker Laurie Jinkins.
I have to share a photo of my parents with me on the floor of the House of Representatives on that first day. When people talk to me about why they work so hard, or care so much about fixing a problem, often the answer comes down to making this a better place for their kids, parents, and neighbors.
