Legislative Update: Share your policy ideas, and moving our community forward

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

I hope you’ve enjoyed our incredible Seattle summer. Although there was much to enjoy including spending time in community and with family, my fellow legislators and I also kept an eye on the continued chaotic actions coming from the white house. We are unwavering in our commitment to protect all Washingtonians and will continue to do everything we can to ensure Washington remains a place where all residents can thrive.

Tell me your policy ideas

As we transition to fall, I am looking ahead to the next legislative session and identifying my policy priorities.
I could use some help from you.
Please take a moment to fill out this brief survey and tell me what is important to you. It’s anonymous, unless you include your information, and will be informative in the coming months.

Supporting important work in the 37th LD

Finally, it was a joy to spend time with community earlier this week at our check ceremony. I am proud to have secured millions of dollars in funding for several important projects in our community including

  • Empowering Youth and Families Outreach – $71,000
  • Central Area Youth Association – $225,000
  • 23rd and Cherry Renovation – $1.3 million
  • Mother Nation Spirit Journey Healing Village – $3.5 million
  • Rainier Valley Food Bank – $1.03 million
  • Rainier Beach Action Coalition – $325,000
  • Rainier Vista Boys & Girls Club – $66,000

When so many programs are being shrunk, placed at risk, or even forced to shut down, this state funding represents critical investments in organizations doing the important work that helps keep our community safe, fed, and moving in the right direction.

Thank you to everyone who attended our check ceremony, including my fellow District 37 lawmaker, Sen. Rebecca Saldaña. It was a great opportunity to connect and continue to learn from one another.
