Broad support found for EPA regulations on carbon

Seven in 10 Americans see global warming as a serious problem facing the country according to a new ABC News/Washington Post poll. The polling shows broad support for Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) recently announced rules on greenhouse emissions, even if it means they have to pay more for energy consumption.

Surprisingly perhaps, the ABCNews/Washington Post poll released on June 2, 2014 shows regulations that raise energy costs by $20 a month win majority support across income groups, ranging from 71 percent among those with incomes of $100,000 or more to 60 percent among those with incomes less than $50,000.

As The Advance has noted before, it appears global warming has truly arrived as a social issue that the people want to see addressed.
