With a salute to the Washington Post (now owned by this Washington’s own Jeff Bezos, the Amazon CEO), here’s a collection of 25 maps and charts about the states (actually, 26 – they added one about languages other than English and Spanish).
From these, we learn that our state is among the leaders in new brewery permits, well-being, and long-term state budget planning – and No. 1 in imposing excise taxes on hard liquor. We’ve got our fair share of millionaires, and we’ve done very well in recovering from the Great Recession – although not so well in reducing long-term unemployment as a percentage of overall unemployment.
