Dear friends & neighbors,

Happy 2024! I hope you enjoyed a wonderful holiday season with family and friends. Now that we’re back in Olympia 🏛️ for the 2024 legislation session, I wanted to provide a preview of the legislature’s goals for this short 60-day session.

We want to hear from you!

Hearing from YOU is essential to building a Washington that works for everyone. Get involved this session and make your voice heard! 🗣️

2024 legislative session priorities

This week, our Speaker Laurie Jinkins laid out the House Democrats’ major priorities in her opening remarks, which include:

  • providing more stability and predictability for renters, 🏠🏘️🏡
  • increasing access to affordable childcare for working families, 👨‍👨‍👦‍👦⚒️🧰
  • investing in the state’s behavioral health workforce and expanding community-based mental health and substance use disorder treatment, 👩‍⚕️👨‍⚕️🩺  and
  • ensuring the state’s hard-won investments in clean air and climate action continue forward. 🌲🌤️🌊
