Legislative Update: Helping kids unaccompanied youth and Highway 18 Funding.

Friends and neighbors,

It was an honor serving as your representative this legislative session. I served on the Capital Budget, the Education, and the Human Services & Early Learning committees where I worked for the needs of our communities in eastern and southern King County. Here is an update on some of my legislative successes this session.

Those include:

  • Securing funding for the initial stages of lane expansion of Highway 18 from Hobart Road to I-90.
  • Compiling data about participation in computer science classes so we can ensure all students have access to this important curriculum.
  • Expanding services to unaccompanied youth who are homeless.
  • Aligning our state programs so we can access federal funds to help keep families together and avoid crisis.
  • Providing a free, permanent license plate to Purple Heart recipients and their families.
