Three quick updates: the 2024 session, recycling, and affordable housing

Dear neighbors,

It’s the third week of session, scheduled for nine weeks.

We made history in the first week by passing 12 bills from the floor of the House of Representatives, starting on the first day.

They passed with strong support from Democrats and Republicans alike, from every corner of the state.

Most issues are actually like that, with more than 90 percent of bills passing with strong bipartisan votes. We can—and must—listen to each other with respect and get things done for all the people we represent.

Here’s an update on three things: a big-picture view of the 2023 session, an update on the new recycling legislation, and what I’m doing to help make housing more affordable.

I’ll keep you updated on issues important to all of us back home—and I hope you take a moment to share your ideas, comments, and stories!
