UW-Bothell STEM Building

The House released its Construction (Capital) Budget proposal on Monday. Many good projects are included in this budget, but our communities can be excited about one specific project. The House Construction Budget includes $75 million for construction of a new joint science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) building on the UW-Bothell and Cascadia Community College campus. This joint effort allows UW-Bothell and Cascadia College to serve their students effectively while saving the state money on construction of a joint facility that serves both campuses. Combined with the $1.5 million in workforce education programs we are proposing at UW-Bothell, our students will have new and exciting opportunities to pursue high-demand family-wage careers.

Thank you,

Rep. Derek Stanford                           Rep. Shelley Kloba
