In the news: Supreme Court nuclear fight at odds with ‘Cancer Moonshot’

Hanford cleanup workers’ access to workers compensation for cancer and beryllium disease is being challenged at the US Supreme Court by the Biden Administration’s US Department of Energy. Read an excellent summary of the inconsistency of the Biden Administration seeking to overturn Washington State’s law aimed at preventing and treating cancer with the Biden Administration’s commitment to supporting veterans whose exposures to burn pits caused cancer as part of President Biden’s “cancer shot.”

E&E News (a Politico publication) shares research I oversaw on the risks from even short exposures at Hanford and the injustice of denying workers compensation to people dying from their exposures. We addressed this in a law I helped develop and co-sponsor, which is now being challenged in the US Supreme Court.
