Friends and neighbors,
This legislative session, we took a big swing to try to provide renters with some protection from the ever-escalating rental rates that so many are facing. I’m deeply disappointed to share that we were not able to overcome republican opposition to rent stabilization or expanded rent increase notices. But we are not giving up, which is why I am sending you this email.
I am starting an email list that will discuss efforts to protect tenants and will provide opportunities for people who have been hurt by skyrocketing rents to share their stories and impact legislation. I heard from you this year that these polices matter to you, and I’d love to have you r help in this movement as we prepare to come back fighting for tenants again next year. This message is an introduction to that email list and an opportunity for you to opt out if you don’t want to participate.
