Protecting Renters

This legislative session, we took a big swing to try to provide renters with some protection from the ever-escalating rental rates that so many are facing. I’m deeply disappointed to that we were not able to overcome republican opposition to rent stabilization or expanded rent increase notices. But we are not giving up.

I am starting an email list that will discuss efforts to protect tenants and will provide opportunities for people who have been hurt by skyrocketing rents to share their stories and impact legislation. I heard from you this year that these polices matter to you, and I’d love to have your help in this movement as we prepare to come back fighting for tenants again next year.

I look forward to having an ongoing conversation about stabilization efforts and opportunities to create change. Until then, thank you for showing interest in protecting renters.
