Dear Friends and Neighbors,
As we gear up for the 2025 legislative session, I’m excited to share some updates about my new leadership roles, the priorities I’m championing this year, and the work we’re doing to deliver results for our district. It’s a privilege to serve you, and I’m more energized than ever to advocate for the policies that matter most to you and your family.

New Roles, Renewed Focus
I’m deeply honored to have been elected Chair of the Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee (AgNR) and Chair of the Legislative Black Caucus (LBC). These leadership positions give me a powerful platform to advocate for our most marginalized communities while supporting policies that promote sustainable growth, equity, and opportunity for all.
Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee
I am honored to have been elected by my peers to serve as Chair of the Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee, where I will work to ensure that Washington’s agriculture industry remains a leader in sustainable practices while balancing the need to protect our natural resources. Our state’s farmers, ranchers, and small businesses are the backbone of our economy, and we need policies that support them, promote climate-resilient agriculture, and ensure that our resources are stewarded for future generations.
In this role, I’ll be focusing on policies that promote sustainable farming, protect our waterways, and address the urgent need for climate action in the agricultural sector and on state-owned lands. Whether it’s advocating for more resources for farmers to mitigate the impacts of climate change, ensuring fair compensation for local growers, or protecting Washington’s rich biodiversity, I’m committed to securing a prosperous future for our agricultural and natural resources community.
Legislative Black Caucus
As Chair of the Legislative Black Caucus, the largest legislative Black Caucus in the western United States, I am leading efforts to uplift Black communities across our state by advocating for policies that prioritize racial equity, economic empowerment, and social justice so all Washingtonians can thrive. The LBC serves as a vital voice in the legislature, ensuring that the needs and aspirations of Black Washingtonians are represented at the highest levels. Through this role, we will be pushing for policies that address systemic inequities in housing, education, healthcare, and criminal justice, as well as promoting access to economic opportunities for all.
This work is personal to me, and I know it’s personal for many of you as well. Our communities deserve policies that don’t just talk about change, but deliver it—policies that empower, support, and open doors to success for future generations. I’m committed to fighting for these values in every decision I make.
Key Priorities for 2025
This year, I’m focusing on bold, community-centered policies, including:
- Ending the Sale of Flavored Tobacco Products: Protecting the health of young people in our state by addressing the dangerous rise in flavored tobacco use.
- Cracking Down on Ticket Sales Abuse: Working to ensure fair access to tickets for sports, concerts, and events by combating predatory practices that leave fans frustrated and exploited.
- Strengthening Education, Agriculture, and Local Economies: From classroom support to agricultural innovation, we’re investing in what makes Washington strong and vibrant.

Looking Ahead with Optimism
The start of a new session always brings hope and the promise of progress. I’m committed to fighting for the issues that matter most to you—whether that’s building a stronger economy, ensuring equity in our schools, or preserving our shared quality of life.
As always, my door is open. Your voice drives my work in Olympia, and I encourage you to reach out with your thoughts, questions, or concerns. Let’s make 2025 a year of action and progress for our community!
In service,
Rep. Kristine Reeves
