In our ongoing effort to stay connected, I want to share a few updates with you. While we may not have a physical district office at the moment, we are operating in-person in Olympia, and are fully committed to serving you virtually throughout the 2024 session and interim. This decision was made to optimize resources and contribute to cost-saving measures for the state. 

Rest assured we take every opportunity to respond to your inquiries promptly. Your concerns matter, and we make it a priority to read every email that comes our way. Your feedback is essential in guiding our work and ensuring that we represent your interests effectively. 

If you are my constituent, please know that I am here for you, working diligently to address your needs and concerns. Whether it’s through email, phone calls, or virtual meetings, we strive to be accessible.

  • Research: Stay informed by exploring legislation based on lawmakers or topics that resonate with you. Understanding these issues is key to our collective progress. 
  • Learn: Dive into the legislative process from its inception to gain a deeper understanding of how decisions are shaped and executed. 
  • Testify: Your voice is powerful. Whether virtually or in writing, you can continue to testify on legislation during the committee process. Share your insights and personal stories to make a lasting impact.

Broadband for a More Connected and Empowered Community 

I’m thrilled to share a significant victory that addresses one of my foremost priorities – broadband access. The federal government is allocating an impressive $1.23 billion over the next few years to enhance broadband services for those facing inadequate or limited access. 

This funding marks a remarkable achievement for our community. Originally expecting $900 million, we’ve surpassed expectations by a third. This substantial increase reflects our dedication and success in advocating for improved broadband infrastructure. 

I am excited about the positive impact this will have on our neighborhoods. For those currently without broadband or facing challenges due to limited access, the expansion of broadband services is on the horizon. This is an important step towards a more connected and empowered community.
