While it doesn’t come as a surprise to those of us who reside in The Evergreen State, Washington is now considered one of the top ten states in the country based on “well-being.”
The analysis is based on data from the Gallup-Healthways Well-Being Index, “a definitive measure and empiric database of real-time changes in well-being throughout the world.”
The same study the year before had Washington ranked 15th. We’re moving on up.
And when you look at how Washington stacks up in all sorts of categories, it’s easy to see why Washington’s well-being is so highly regarded. The Advance has noted many of these achievements…
- Washington is one of the tops states for small businesses
- Washington ranks in the top ten among states with the safest driving regulations
- Washington ranks 9th among states in the country for voluntererism
- Washington was also recently noted as the most innovative state in the country
- Washington is one of the ten best states for women, the 14thhealthiest state, the 4th state in GDP growth, 6th in economic performance, the top-rated state economy, the state with the 3rd-lowest number of workplace fatalities, and the top state in software publishing jobs.
While there is always more work to be done, Washingtonians should be proud of the overall “well-being” they have fostered in their state.
