OLYMPIA—The newest lawmaker from the 44th District, Rep. April Berg (D-Mill Creek), is a school board member, former small business owner, and former aerospace worker.
“I’m focused on helping everyone succeed—in school, in life, and in today’s economy,” said Berg, former owner of The Edmonds Inn Bed and Breakfast. “People are still struggling. Working moms and dads are trying to pay the bills while their kids do remote school, small businesses are doing whatever they can to survive, and housing prices are still incredibly high. It will take creativity and cooperation to work toward solutions.”
Berg serves on the Everett School Board and former served on the Edmonds School Board and City of Mill Creek Planning Commission. She said she’ll put those experiences to work while serving the House Education Committee and Local Government Committee, and she will also serve as vice chair of the House Finance Committee.
As the first Black woman to represent the 44th District, Berg said she’ll work toward opportunity for all families in an increasingly diverse district and state.
