OLYMPIA – Following Sen. Reuven Carlyle’s announcement that he will not seek re-election to the Washington state Senate in 2022, Reps. Liz Berry and Noel Frame issued the following statement:
“Sen. Carlyle has long been a stalwart champion for the families of the 36th Legislative District and a tireless defender of the environment. During his tenure as chair of the Senate Environment, Energy & Technology Committee, the Legislature passed some of the most ambitious legislation to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions in Washington and cemented our state’s place as a national leader in our shared fight against climate change. The legacy he leaves behind will shine as an example for others to follow; not just because of his legislative accomplishments, but because of the friend he was to so many along the way. We are proud to have had the privilege to work alongside such a dedicated public servant for the people of Washington.”
