It’s time to rethink things and ask ourselves if there’s a better way.
Because we’re being crushed by rising pressures on multiple fronts:
- The skyrocketing costs of housing and homelessness.
- Climate change, rising seas, extreme weather, and pollution.
- Living further from work where homes are affordable—though that means more time stuck in traffic and away from your family and stressed.
The COVID pandemic has shocked us into rethinking many of our old assumptions. Working from home is now a serious option for many industries—and people are challenging old assumptions about work-life balance, commuting, and housing.
So let’s have a real discussion, you and me, about how we’d dream of living and working.
Because incremental changes will not fix a single one of these daily problems. Not one.
I’d like to hear your stories—what you like and dislike about how things are today.
And I want to listen to your dreams.
If you had a magic wand, where would you live, and how would you get to work?
What changes would you make here in the 1st District and throughout Washington state?
Please take this short four-question survey to share your thoughts and dreams.
In the next e-newsletter of this series, I’ll share some of those thoughts along with a bit of history of how these common problems happened.
Later, we can talk about ways to make our dreams happen. To change our daily lives forever.
Because it doesn’t have to be this way.
