The Washington State Legislature will present House Resolution 4654 sponsored by Rep. Mari Leavitt (D-University Place), honoring the life and career of legendary sportscaster Tony Ventrella, who was a constituent in the 28th District.
Ventrella was the leading sports anchor in the Seattle market for 20 years, appearing in the homes of hundreds of thousands of Washington residents every night on the evening news. Ventrella spent the next 20 years working for the Seattle Seahawks and the Sounders, and volunteering in his community. A key figure in building Washington’s sports culture, Ventrella passed away from cancer in 2024. The House recognizes his life and accomplishments with this resolution, which was adopted April 7.
A floor resolution is a written motion calling for action, which may be offered from the floor of either house. Floor resolutions are usually congratulatory, commendatory, or memorial. Mr. Ventrella’s family will be in the House gallery to be presented with the Resolution on the 22nd.
