House Capital Budget makes substantial investments in local projects.

OLYMPIA –The House of Representatives’ Capital Budget proposal, introduced on Monday, makes substantial investments for the 10th District in behavioral health facilities, historic preservation, local community projects, fish and wildlife preservation, state parks and local libraries.

The House’s proposal allocates over $22 million to the 10th District for local projects including:

  • Samish Hatchery improvements – $8 million.
  • Fort Casey Lighthouse preservation – $1.66 million.
  • Bowman Bay pier replacement – $1.64 million.
  • Local estuary and salmon restoration projects – $1.2 million.
  • Preservation of Ebey’s National Historic Preserve – $1 million.
  • Grants for Oak Harbor Tri-County Behavioral Health Center – $1 million.
  • Coupeville Boys and Girls Club – $849,000.
  • Skagit County Sheriff Emergency Communication System – $750,000.
  • Oak Harbor Boys and Girls Club – $743,000.
  • La Conner Regional Library improvements – $720,000.
  • Camp Korey Youth Recreational Facilities Grant – $545,000.
  • Oak Harbor Marina improvements – $400,000.

“These investments are what our communities need to preserve our quality of life and the natural beauty of the 10th District,” said Rep. Dave Paul (D-Oak Harbor). “These are significant investments that strengthen our communities, protect natural resources, improve safety and support first responders, and expand recreational opportunities throughout Island, Skagit, and Snohomish counties.”
