Friends,
Many families are preparing to send their newly-graduated seniors off to college, a certificate program, an apprenticeship, or another path toward a career. I’d like to take this opportunity to make sure that everyone is aware of the great financial aid options the state has available for people looking to continue their education. It is not too late to apply for many of these options. Whether you are a newly graduated high school senior, someone looking to make a career change, or simply trying to grow your earning potential, check out these great resources.
The Washington Student Achievement Council does a fantastic job advocating for students in higher education and workforce development programs. You can find information about various financial aid options by clicking on their logo above.
Ready. Set. Grad. offers families and students resources to help apply for financial aid, as well as tips for planning for, applying to, and successfully graduating from college. The website is linked in the logo above.
Washington State Board of Community and Technical Colleges
The State Board of Community and Technical Colleges (SBCTC) also has resources to help students plan for the cost of college and apply for financial aid and scholarships. Our community and technical colleges are a vital resource for students in Washington state and do a fantastic job helping students get to a family-wage job quickly with as little debt as possible.
These are a few of the important resources for Washington students as they plan their career path. If you or anyone you know needs help planning for college, please share these websites with them.
As a legislator, I value your input. If you have questions or concerns about an issue in our community or the state, please reach out. You can contact me by email at dave.paul@leg.wa.gov, or by phone at (360) 786-7914.
Thank you,
Rep. Dave Paul
