Rep. Gerry Pollet holding ‘Traveling Town Hall’ Saturday morning, Jan. 25, in Kenmore

State Rep. Gerry Pollet will host another of his regular “Traveling Town Halls” this Saturday morning, Jan. 25, from 10 to 12 noon at Kenmore Espresso Works, which is located at 6734 N.E. 181st St.

Pollet holds these “drop-in office hours” with constituents most every Saturday morning during the 2014 legislative session (unless the House of Representatives is meeting in session on the House floor in Olympia).

His 46th Legislative District includes the communities and neighborhoods of North and Northeast Seattle, Lake Forest Park, and Kenmore.

“I look very forward to hearing what’s on people’s minds on any legislative topic,” Pollet said. “It should be easier for constituents to meet with their legislators than it is for lobbyists to meet with us in Olympia. Regular folks can’t go to Olympia to give me input during the legislative session, so my weekly Traveling Town Halls make it much easier for constituents to see me and discuss any issue with me.”

Pollet launched his traveling-office tradition two years ago, hosting Saturday-morning meetings all over the district during the 2012 session. He said he wants residents from neighborhoods to have a chance to speak their minds without having to trudge all the way down to Olympia. Pollet is the only legislator who returns to his legislative district most every weekend to meet with constituents during a legislative session.

Interested citizens who want to join in the discussion should look for a table-top sign indicating where to find Pollet’s constituent-meeting at each Traveling Town Hall location.

After this Saturday’s meeting, the next Traveling Town Hall drop-in discussion with Pollet is Saturday morning, Feb. 1, in Northeast Seattle. The meeting, which will also be from 10 to noon, will be at Lake City Kaffeeklatsch, which is located at 12513 Lake City Way N.E.

Citizens can always find information on Pollet’s in-district meetings — as well as information about a wide variety of community, legislative, and state-government issues — at his legislative webpage: https://housedemocrats.wa.gov/roster/rep-gerry-pollet/.
