We want to hear from you! Join our 46th district town hall meeting on Thursday, January 9th from 6-8PM at North Seattle College Auditorium

Friends and neighbors,

Your 46th District Legislators are getting ready to begin a new legislative session on January 13th.

As we prepare, please join Senator Javier Valdez, Representative Darya Farivar, and me for a town hall meeting from 6:00 – 8pm on Thurs., Jan 9 at the North Seattle College Auditorium, which is located on the main floor of the library building. Check out this map for directions. There’s lots of parking (free that eve) and easy access from Northgate Light Rail station via the pedestrian bridge over I-5 to North Seattle College.  The auditorium is wheelchair accessible.

Town halls are a way for us to share with you our top priorities for this session and provide some updates on how our work is impacting the 46th district. More importantly, it’s a great opportunity for us to hear from you. Your ideas, questions, and experiences will guide our work in the Legislature.

You can submit your questions ahead of time here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/7HYRNLB

My top priority is funding for our children’s education and ensuring Seattle Public Schools and other districts do not continue to have massive deficits requiring layoffs, school closures and denial of educational opportunities for all children.  I will be introducing legislation to fully fund special education which is the major driver of those deficits and failure to meet the needs of children with disabilities.  You can read more about my legislative priorities here on my legislative website.

You can RSVP on Facebook to let us know you’re coming (not required) and to keep track of any updates https://www.facebook.com/events/448490371639588/

I hope to see you there and look forward to hearing from you!
