Friends and neighbors,
Welcome to the 2022 Legislative Session! Before I get into more about this year’s session, I want to invite you to a virtual town hall I’m hosting with Sen. Claire Wilson and Rep. Jesse Johnson on Jan. 20 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. We want to hear from you! Please visit this link to sign up to join us. You can also submit your questions ahead of time here.
Due to the highly contagious omicron variant of COVID-19, this session will be mostly remote to help keep everyone safe. While a few representatives and staff will be allowed on the House floor for voting purposes, we’ll be doing most of our work virtually.
Like last session, no one has to travel to Olympia to participate in the lawmaking process. Committee meetings and floor sessions will be live streamed at tvw.org, and we’ll continue to use the remote committee testimony system — a great way for everyone to have a chance to make their voice heard. Visit this link for more information about staying involved.
Thanks for reading and stay tuned for more updates! I’ll be sending out another newsletter later this month about the bills I’m working on. In the meantime, you can email me here or call me at 360-786-7898. It’s an honor to represent the 30th Legislative District!
Stay well,
Jamila Taylor
