105-Days to Put People First

Friends and neighbors,

The 2025 legislative session is already upon us and I am sincerely honored to represent you and the 41st legislative district for another two years. In the next 105-days, the legislature must pass a balanced two-year budget and collaborate on solutions to the most pressing issues facing our community.

Whether it’s protecting healthcare access and coverage, expanding behavioral health services, or ensuring Washington’s tax system doesn’t disproportionately burden working families, my litmus test for legislation will always be to ask – does this put people first in my community? To better assess this question, I hope you’ll fill out this short survey to better understand what issues matter most to you and impact your household.

My committee assignments this year are essential to this work. I am honored to serve on the House Appropriations, Civil Rights  & Judiciary, Health Care & Wellness, and Rules committees. In addition, I have also been reelected by my colleagues to serve as Deputy Majority Leader. The next 105-days are going to by quickly. Below is a brief overview of major deadlines this legislative session and how you can participate in your democracy.

How to Participate in Your Democracy

It’s easier than ever to see what’s happening in the state House of Representative—and to share your thoughts.

  • You can watch any committee hearing or floor debate on tvw.org, either live or after the event.
  • And you can reach your lawmakers by email, regular mail, or the toll-free Hotline (1-800-562-6000).

If you’re interested in an issue, or passionate about solving a problem, please speak out!

Serve as a Legislative Page!

The Washington State Legislature has one of the best page programs in the country! Pages are sponsored by legislators and serve for one week during the legislative session, learning about the legislative process while distributing materials throughout the Capitol, assisting offices, delivering messages, and presenting colors at the opening of the day’s legislative session.

Find out more about the page program by clicking here.

How To Reach Me

Staying connected with you is my top priority. Whether you have questions, concerns, or ideas, I encourage you to reach out. You can contact me via email or by reaching out to my wonderful legislative assistant Carmen. You can also follow me for the latest updates on Facebook and my website.

Throughout the legislative session, I will continue to hold town hall meetings and community forums. Keep an eye out for announcements about these events, where we can discuss important issues face-to-face. Your input is invaluable, and I look forward to hearing from you!

In Service,

Sincerely,

Rep. My-Linh Thai
