Friends and neighbors,
This season is a time of celebration for many communities in our state and region. It is a time of gathering with family and remembering the things we can be thankful for.
For many, however, it is also a time a difficulty. Financial challenges, housing concerns, as well as mental and behavioral health struggles are all still present and at times starker during this time of year. My office works closely with federal, state, and municipal partners to help our neighbors navigate the various resources available. If we can assist you, please reach out. You can email me or call my office at 425-883-3366. We are here to help and represent you, please reach out.
If you or your loved one is experiencing mental or behavioral health struggles or is in crisis, there is hope through Washington’s 988 system. Don’t hesitate to call, text, or message 988 and get connected with people who can help. 988 Lifeline services are available in Spanish, along with interpretation services in over 240 languages and dialects. If you’re deaf, hard of hearing, or use TTY, you can use your preferred relay service. You can also dial 711 and then 988.
This time of year is also when legislators get ready for the legislative session in January. I want to hear from you as I prepare. Please share your thoughts in this survey or by emailing me. Thank you for all you do!
I hope you and your loved ones have a happy and health holiday season. Please remember that you are not alone and there are resources available to you.
Thank you and happy holidays,
Rep. Amy Walen
