Video: Jinkins speaks in support of updating parentage laws

The House of Representatives on Feb. 28, 2011, voted to pass House Bill 1267, which updates Washington’s Uniform Parentage Act. The act establishes who a child’s parents are when it is born in Washington, but the provisions have not kept up with recent changes in the law or society, especially with regard to how domestic partnerships fit in to parentage issues.
