Rep. Lillian Ortiz-Self (D-Mukilteo) talks about what it means to have been elected House Democratic Caucus Vice Chair. She says that it is an honor to have a seat at the table as part of the leadership team. She also talks about the Levy Cliff bill, the first legislation passed by the House this year. The measure will ensure schools continue providing quality services to students while the Legislature works on a more permanent solution to the funding problem. Lastly, she talks about the Fair Chance Act that she is sponsoring. The bill will help people who have a criminal record, or even those who have been arrested but not convicted, to pursue employment so they can provide for their families, stay out of trouble and contribute to the economy.
