Dear friends and neighbors,
As you’ll see in the video below, during an election year, there are certain restrictions (RCW 42.52 180 & 185) on my communications to ensure state resources are not used for election purposes:
These restrictions include a freeze on mass email updates such as this one, as well as to my legislative website and my official Facebook page – meaning no new content can be added beginning May 16, 2022 until after the general election is certified in November.
But I want you to know that I am your representative regardless of these restrictions and I am here to help you. Since I am still able to respond to constituent communications, if you have questions or comments about legislative issues or need help connecting to resources, please reach out to me. You can call my office at 425-654-4402 or send me an email at Bill.Ramos@leg.wa.gov.
Virtual Town Hall video
My seatmates and I held a couple of town hall meetings in April, a virtual one on the 26th, and then one in person on the 30th. Thank you so much to everyone who made it to both or to one of them! Having the opportunity to answer your questions and address your concerns is central to my work as your representative, and I always welcome any feedback you may have. If you missed the virtual one and are interested in knowing what we talked about, we have a recording of the full event for you to watch anytime:
Newsletters
As mentioned earlier, this will be the last newsletter you will receive from me for at least six months. But Rep. Lisa Callan and I have tried to keep you updated on our work this session. A week after we adjourned, we sent out a joint e-newsletter focused on the budgets and key investments made this year:
In April, we mailed out our Session Report to thousands of households across the 5th district. It again touched briefly on the budgets and district projects, but focused more on the work we each did on the committees in which we serve:
And lastly, just this past week, I mailed out a postcard with information on election year restrictions, as well as a very short summary of some of our accomplishments this session, including law enforcement reform, housing and homelessness, protecting our environment, and the good news on funding for work on Highway 18:
Keep in Touch!
While my website won’t be updated for a few months, it will remain up and all of these documents, as well as previous e-newsletters and video updates, are posted there for easy reference.
Again, please keep in mind that you can contact me anytime and know that Hunter, my Legislative Assistant, and I will do our best to help in any way we can.
Thank you for reading this update and for giving me the opportunity to be your voice in Olympia.
Have a great summer!
