Dear neighbors,
The 2024 legislative session kicked yesterday. We got busy on day one, passing three bills including HB 1455, a bill to end child marriage in Washington State. I’m looking forward to working with my colleagues over the coming weeks to pass more legislation that benefits Washingtonians across the state.

About that bill: HB 1911
It’s an honor to now serve as chair of the House Civil Rights & Judiciary Committee—and during the first week of session, we will hear my legislation, House Bill 1911, about public defenders. It’s happening at 8 a.m. on January 10. You can watch it on TVW.org—live or taped—and offer your comments or testimony remotely by clicking here.
Here’s a few ways you can participate during the 2024 legislative session.
We’ve made it easier than ever to learn about proposed laws, share your comments, and watch any part of the process from committee hearings to debates on the floor of the House of Representatives. You can even sign up to testify on a bill, either in person or remotely. Click on the image below to find out more!
